Loyalty has shifted for the Copier Dealership Service Manager

Minneapolis, MN, June 30, 2005 - Copier Careers, a Minneapolis based niche recruiting firm serving the Document Imaging Industry for over 20 years, published their fourth Service Management Salary Survey in 2005. The trend shifted from 2004 showing that these individuals will likely stay with their present employer long term and are less likely to be actively looking for new opportunities. Studies show that Service Managers have spent a major portion of their careers with the same employer.

Last year's results showed dissatisfaction with their current employers, but this year's "responses suggest that managers might have been reacting to economic conditions and the volatility within the industry of the past few years", observes Dave Grandelis, Director of Recruiting for Copier Careers. However, the trend is still down in terms of response to how many years they expect to remain at their current position. The average response continues to trend lower each year with 2005 being 6.2 years that they plan to stay in their position, down from 8 years in 2004 and 11 years in 2002. Service Managers are still working long hours, with many averaging 50 or more per week. "It looks like these individuals are logging more hours, not only in the office, but at home," says Paul Schwartz, President of Copier Careers. However, they are well compensated by their employers, have very strong benefits and since last year we have seen Bonus Opportunities rise - an indication that they are more taken care of as employees and seems to have replaced the dissatisfaction as well as created a more loyal Service Manager.

Service Managers answered this survey online anonymously. They logged on to CopierCareers.com and answered a series of questions related to their particular job description. Copier Careers then compares results from previous years' studies and industry expert Scott Cullen writes and publishes the survey in ENX magazine. Please look for our next survey to be published in the spring, 2006.
