Service Techs - Not so stable anymore

Minneapolis, MN, March 27, 2007 - Copier Careers, a Minneapolis based niche recruiting firm serving the Document Imaging Industry for over 20 years, just published their sixth annual Service Technician Salary Survey. This year's survey garnered response from 3,745 copier technicians across the United States. The results indicate that the majority of industry technicians feel unappreciated by their current employer and are actively looking for better opportunities within the industry.

Technicians continue to work fifty hour weeks; are predominately male; approximately 37.3 years of age and have been with their current employer for 4.9 years, down from 5.8 years in last year's survey. Forty percent (40%) of this year respondents said that they expect to change companies this year. Technicians are shopping their services at the same time that their technical skill set is in record demand.

Base Pay and benefits continue to be the top two components of what matters to Techs in their jobs, with company and job stability coming next on the list of priorities. Of course, as in all surveys, bonuses and peer respect still play a big part in whether or not a Service Technician stays in their current position.

Service Technicians answered this survey online anonymously. They logged on to CopierCareers.com and answered a series of questions related to their particular job description. Copier Careers then compares results from last year's study and industry expert Scott Cullen writes and publishes the survey in ENX magazine. The survey is published in the April edition of ENX Magazine. For a hard copy of the survey, please contact Copier Careers directly at 888-733-4868.
